Bachelor of Philosophy in Biotechnology

Entry Requirements

Candidates shall be eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Philosophy in Technology (Biotechnology) degree in the School of Pure and Applied Sciences in the following categories:

Higher Diploma (Hdip) Or Equivalent>

Candidates eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Philosophy in Technology – Biotechnology must have a Higher Diploma in Biotechnology of the KPTU or Equivalent qualification.

Bachelor of Technology in Biochemistry

Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Science Programmes

Applicants must obtained at least a minimum of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations. In addition, they must satisfy The Technical University of Kenya admission requirements. Prospective candidates falling into the categories listed below shall be eligible for admission.

KCSE or Equivalent

Applicants must have obtained a minimum grade of C+ with a C+ in Biology ,Chemistry , English/Kiswahili and Mathematics/Physics at KCSE level.

A Levels or Equivalent

Candidates must have obtained a minimum of two (2) principal passes in Biology and Chemistry and a subsidiary level pass in Mathematics with a credit pass in English at O-Level/subsidiary pass in General Paper at A-level.(B )Diploma (TEP) or Equivalent

Candidates with a Diploma (Technical Education Program) in Biological sciences of The Technical University of Kenya or an equivalent qualification

Diploma in Technology or Equivalent

Candidates with a Diploma in Technology (Dip.Tech.) in Biochemistry of The Technical University of Kenya or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Higher Diploma (H.Dip.) or Equivalent

Candidates with a Higher Diploma (H.Dip.) in Biochemistry/Biotechnology of The Technical University of Kenya or an equivalent qualification.

Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology
